FIRST THINGS FIRST
ere Lord, i want him to be
an angel transformed at once;
ere Lord, i want him a saint
made, and perfect, over night;
teach me not to judge nor condemn;
but only his situation to appraise;
and thereafter learn to lead him on
to the secret of a changed life;
for he cannot be that i imagine
till he is touched body and soul
by Him who made the promise
‘Lo! i make all things new’.
there and only then, can he like Star
