Have you watched a series called Scorpion? I have watched it this year and I am a partial fan! Let me tell you why-

It's an drama/thriller and falls under category of my favourite genre. It was released back in 2014 and had four seasons in total.

Basically the very first episode was the one which caught my interest. First of all it is loosely based on true events of Walter O' brain's life.
The plot revolves on Walter who is genius and has an IQ of 197 who struggles with low EQ (Emotional Quotient) with his life in chaos he gathers group of geniuses who tend to be his friends and formed scorpion. It included his non genius friends - Paige (The waitress and love of his life) and Cabe (The homeland cop) . With this team he solves numerous hard global issues and saves lives of people.

Let me start with The Cast-

These six people are the main characters of the show. The lead character is played by Elyes Gabel who justified the role as rest of the actors did. He acted stubborn, genius and confused really well. I really liked his attempt at performing the character.
Opposite to Elyes , Katharine McPhee was playing the character of Paige who is emotionally stable and falls under normal person's IQ but very well manages the group.
Also both of them had a nice chemistry on and off screen.
Next in the row comes Eddie Kaye Thomas who played Toby's role. Oh he's my favourite, the punks , jokes and sarcasm level is 100
I really liked his playful yet genius role in the show.
To his opposite was Jadyn Wong who played the role of Happy. She represented girl power, I really like the way she acted as emotionless but yea I didn't adored much of 'no-expression" movements by her maybe a director's call or what so ever.
Ari Stidham played the role of Sylvester in the show and he played the character well by showing his impatient and phobic side with immense genius level of IQ.
last but not the least comes Robert Patrick who played the role of Robert Patrick and Oh man he did wonders I can't imagine him being any one else than a cop with heavy voice.

If talking about the cast, how can one forget this little marvellous kid? Riley B Smith played the role of Ralph, Paige's son and that kid did too good. I don't know how hard it would be to shoot with a kid but he did exceptionally good.

The best things I liked about Scorpion

  1. The technical aspect- I don't know about others but I was sold by the very first episode of the show and hooked up till the last. By the way I didn't watched it back in 2014, But this year on amazon prime I watched all the episodes days by days.
  2. The second most amazing factor is the bonding between the characters, I really enjoyed friends more like a family thing.
  3. Team importance and not just an individual centric. The main character was Walter but the ensemble and focus on all made it a good show.
  4. There's a good mixture of action and comedy in the show but yea action weighs more and I really liked the factor of action, sarcasm and Genius all put together.
  5. The struggle to contain hidden emotions by the low EQ geniuses was very interesting to watch. I loved the episode where happy and Toby got married also Walter and Paige admitted their love to each other.
  6. I liked the fact that there wasnot continuation of the episode (except 2-3) as it was good like every episode has a new story with a basic story of characters running alongside. Just like new day, new task.

The things I disliked about Scorpion

  1. The reason why the 4 the season was called last because off deducing viewership. Even I didn't liked the last season, Majorly the last episode, the addition of character of Florence was a major poop for me, it didn't added the spice that was needed. Also became the reason of the split of scorpion.
  2. The based on loosely on true events was what everyone said on internet as well which I don't buy as there are many contradiction as to really Walter in real life has IQ which is 197 and has really performed all the life saving events shown in the series.
All this could be possible on some extend but not all as claimed by them.
  3. I hated the suborn character of Walter by the end, which I really appreciated in initial seasons. It became irritating.
  4. The repeating sets, Okay this is weird but when you are hooked to the show, you very easily recognise the same set filmed showing to be in different locations, That just turned my interest down. Does it happen to you as well?
  5. The plot of story just lost the grip and crisp by the 4 th season, uniting Walter and Paige finally would be interesting to watch I thought but It wasn't . I the story writers did no justice.

I really like the character of Tim though but it was quite short and yes a solid one, he was the navy seal with which Paige was in relationship before Walter.

To conclude, I would like to give these series a mid vote between YAY or NAY.
Next I will review shawshank redemption! It came before I was even born, but I acquired it's taste. So stay tuned:)
