The impact of design is purely dependent on human experience. we all are well versed with the fact that user experience is the most prominent goal of any design. we have to consider health and leisure of users while designing any said space.
So, here we will be discussing about the design elements which boosts productivity in an working environment.
The population of people working in office is much larger these days most of the people work in front of the screen throughout their life times.
Be it work from home or office, the space who work in have a huge role in improving the productivity. The design could be the best thing to improve the quality of work.
Instead of just concentrating on aesthetic elements we should consider the green elements as well. By Green I do not meant just the plants. But there's lot more . let's discover together-
While working in a sustainable environment it automatically boosts the productivity of the people and even is good for the company and the climate. There are certain elements which are considered to be the most useful ones such as -
Natural Lighting
It's a actually really basic and you might be considering to skip this part but no. Understand the importance of basics first.
Knowing everything about the importance of natural ventilation is a must to begin with the elements.
The best way to save on electricity bills plus boosting positive space and better health is by accumulating natural light in a workplace. You must have seen huge mnc's having entire façade glazed out of glass which is the proof that the natural lighting is convenient way and is used world wide.
Having a pleasant view from the window is must , That is why most large scale companies are situated amidst the hub where the landscaping and own leisure stops are involved to have a better view than the traffic and roads. For example the cyber hub in Gurugram. It have it's own amazing view.
Understanding the fact that all the offices can't gear up on natural ventilation due to constraint of space even in such a case having artificial lights sourced from natural renewable sources such as solar lights etc is good for economy, company's tax and the climate.
Biophilic elements
Anything which resembles nature be it any pattern, texture, element, design or greenery it induces on great impact on human experiences of the place it automatically boosts up the productivity in an working environment.

There are plenty of plants which are suited for indoor they help improve the quality of air inside and enhances the aesthetics.
Adding up patterns, colours, scent, water elements, materials which are influenced by the nature is another best way to boost productivity.
Acoustics
Boosting concentration is possible being in a silent place while working. Design wise we can bring in noise reduction through acoustic foams installed in the walls and other furniture.
The usual foam between the walls is classic but now the introduction of beautiful acoustic panels have bought a larger change in décor.
From desk partitions to the hanging ceiling , these panels are found in different colours and owes a capacity of absorbing sound as well.
Thus building in the concentration and letting people have their creative minds on work which is positive for the company's economy and reputation.
The last but not the least thing is the furniture. Having comfortable seating is necessary .A chair that supports your spine and gives you a comfortable cushioning is important. not to straight but angled just well is necessary. The height of table and pc to eye level and the placement all counts. Moreover having a good distance between other table is important as well it induces the privacy and positivity to work.
Recycling and Reusing
It is more than a design function it is an attitude towards the sustainable living. Having distinguished bins for organic, recyclable and reusable waste is important.
Minimising the paper waste is crucial specially in architectural offices. I office I was in earlier required me to show every detailed changes I did on paper to my senior architect which is such a waste of paper. Since those sheets were simply thrown away. I had a folder where I used to collect all those sheets and reuse their back side for my rough work instead of getting a notepad. That was my personal way of saving paper.
Also reducing the usage of disposable products and providing or asking for reusable mugs is another great choice.
Concluding
From natural lighting to ventilation we have broad classification of design elements which would be sustainable and will boosts the productivity of employee in the company. The artificial sources of energy be obtained by solar power and waste water recycling . Adding on a biophilic design elements are aesthetically, spiritually and economically viable. Having comfortable seatings and acoustics boosts concentration and energy.
Working ethically with reusing, recycling and not wasting resources and products is best way to stay positive, productive and sustainable.
