The lockdown has been hard on many of us. There is much truth to the saying

Idle hands are the devils playground.

The mind, while a beautiful tool can often lead us into darkness. Sometimes seems to have a will of its own and prefers to. The lockdown has created much idle time, exasperated by the fear and misinformation circulating. I'm glad you have found some respite here from the demons that sometimes plague you. Those times of shelter are necessary for all of us, a blessing.

Was glad you were able to get some sleep a couple weeks ago and able to maintain your running. Exercise is essential, and I should do much more myself. I really let myself go compared to my activities a couple decades ago. Sad to say during the lockdown I even put on around 12 lbs as I no longer had my physical job to help me.

I sometimes (these last few years) marvel at how difficult it is to appreciate the blessings from the past. The little interactions with loved ones, activities that once held so much joy. Longing for those things brings a pain that tarnishes the blessing of those memories. Thankfully, there are new gifts of joy to be found around us if we can but take a breath and pause the mind enough to slow down and see.
