One of the classic moments was watching the Young Turks meltdown on election day when it dawned on them they might be wrong and Trump might actually win. I never heard of them before, but saw their videos after and laughed. Their arrogance slowly being chipped away was priceless. here is one of the long clips of their all day show that day if you want to watch the meltdown.

Part of the problem on the left is their opposition to any meaningful discussion (meaning they are prone to being irrational to the point of mental illness/violence) demands they live in an echo chamber. They don't understand how many actually disagree with them and choose not to engage with them due to it being such a hassle and pointless. Sort of like the men that jump through hoops with their girlfriends and wives to get a moment's peace from the constant harping.

I do believe that they have pushed the insanity to such an intensity now that daily more of their own on the fringes of ration flee them as they find themselves the targets. These people don't want change mostly, they want to see victims as they lash out seeking them.
