Of course the vast majority coming here don't get downvoted to oblivion. Most that come here never earn anything to begin with. However, you do see those with followings who don't invest heavily out of the gate downvoted a lot. Examples

@rt-international. They came in march of 2019. Their posts were kicking ass, posting several times daily averaging 5.00-13.00 per post. After weeks of this, they began getting downvoted to zero rewards.

I could list more but thats enough to highlight what I mean. They stuck around anyway as they probably care less, this is just one more site to post for them. However, their rewards never returned to that beginning as many of those voting them so high are worried about their return on investment I'm guessing.

@tommysotomayor is another example of this. He was targeted for some time on Steem, being accused of a plagiarized account. Despite posting here using Steempress from one of his websites. I finally got them to back off on Steem, then they started right back up here on Hive.

Not sure how much influence RT has, but imagine its huge as I knew who they were before Steem. I first came across Tommy maybe 7 years or so ago, and that man has a huge following. He rubs elbows with celebs like Judge Joe Brown and is a well known name in the red pill manosphere. Like with RT, he keeps posting here despite the accusations of him being a fraud continuing to scare off voters. I wonder how often this happens and the person targeted begins badmouthing the project to their vast followers who greatly outnumber the users here, who then may subsequently go on to continue badmouthing the project.

This happened here recently with another social media influencer called Cryptofinally. I don't know her as I don't follow that kind of stuff, but evidently she is known enough Binance nominated her for female crypto influencer of the year recently and they chased her off. She made a video on her Youtube channel on this. Her reach there is 5750 followers and she pushed it to her Twitter account which has 44200 followers. Her Instagram page has 3635 followers. Not sure how many followers she has on the many other channels she has linked in her Youtube.

They trolled the shit out of her, and it spilled out onto Twitter where independent third parties can witness for themselves without even playing her video where she screenshotted a lot of trolling.

Then you look at a case like Haejin. That man has been downvoted so much, and had so much shit talked about him for using his (and Rancho) stake in what is called selfish ways. It wouldn't be selfish if the reward pool math worked. But if folks used their stake for maximum personal reward only the top dogs would get anything, just how the math works.

Krnel is getting the shit dogged out of his posts right now, because his posting frequency coupled with lots of stake voting for him also pulls heavily from the reward pool. Exposing how delicate the math is.

I could go on, but the facts speak for themselves. The math can only allow so many top dogs while giving crumbs to lower classes. If to many top dogs begin pulling from the pool, there isn't jack for even those at the top. Imagine if all liquid Hive were powered up today and immediately began pulling on that pool. The downvotes that would begin flying would be epic to try hiding the flawed math.
