I was raised Catholic but the most important aspect for me is to acknowledge that God exists as there is a source of everything. The problem comes when people become fanatics and follow religious doctrines to the letter.Some of those things were written centuries ago when life was totally different and most of the people who wrote those things were only human pushing their selfish agendas. It is when people can't let go off some of these things that religion becomes poisonous.
