Hello everyone 😻,
Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report. It's the very last Monday of August and the stepping continued unabated. I have had just another ordinary day and as the midnight hour beckons am here to summarize it for us and also look at some of the trending stories from around the world.
As always thank you for being here and let's get cracking💨.
So I began the day with some stretching and then stepped out for a quick walk around the neighborhood.
Just like yesterday, the sun 🌞 was out, on and off amidst the cloudy sky. After about 30 minutes I was back indoors taking care of some household chores.
Later in the afternoon, I continued watching some YouTube videos and also followed up on the global news.
As the evening set in, I had my usual slow paced sunset 🌄 walk around the neighborhood.
I didn't go far just around the neighborhood then park and finished off getting a few groceries.
So that was the stepping now lets look at what trended globally.
Starting off in Gaza, the situation hasn't changed. The mass murder kept going with 61 Palestinians killed across the strip😿.
21 of these were killed as Al Nasser hospital was attacked twice in quick succession, 5 journalists were among the dead too.
Rights groups have condemned the continued killing of journalists. 245 journalists have been killed by Israel in Gaza since the war began on 7 Oct 2023. Quite shocking.
I didn't see any news about the other war, the other day Ukraine was celebrating 34 years of being free from the Soviet Union.
In the UK, hundreds of thousands of people attended the Notting Hill Carnival in west London, Europe's biggest street party. It was quite a hot day as temps hit up to 28 celsius.
The police have reported lesser incidents of serious violence compared to the previous years. They are using lots of facial recognition cameras.
Over in France, political shenanigans as France summoned American ambassador, Charles Kushner, over a letter accusing France of ignoring anti-Semitism.
Across the pond in the US, more shenanigans as El Salvador man -Abrego Garcia was detained again in Baltimore. In March he had been deported to El Salvador, sent to a notorious prison. Then brought back to US and now in custody for deportation to Uganda. Fingers crossed he gets justice ASAP.
So that was Monday and I wanna thank you for reading this far💯.
See you again tomorrow on a terrific Tuesday.
Nothing more to add but bid you adieu ❤️ Hakuna Matata 😻.
Some pictures from the neighbourhood 🌲🍃🔆⛅🌿🍀🌳
