Ranked Reward Changes Incoming...
The Splinterlands devs have recently dropped the news that they will be overhauling the ranked rewards and putting increased focus on the ranked battle reward system economy. They have identified a number of issues and will be working on a complete overhaul to address the following points:
- Reduce the ability to "farm" rewards using a small set of cards across many different accounts
- Increase the rewards for participating in the ranked season ladder (DEC, quest, and season rewards) across all leagues
- Provide incentives for players to continue playing on a "daily basis" beyond just daily quest and provide incentives for players to continue playing.
Finally...
- Chaos Legion booster packs will be added to the loot pool in daily quest and season reward loot chests starting from the Silver league (Sorry Bronze Bombers) the drop rates are below:
Devs have made a caveat that all packs awarded through loot chests will come out of the overall 15M total packs available. Also packs awarded through loot chests do not include a chance for receiving any future airdrops.
Final Thoughts...
Amazing to see that they are re-looking into the rewards, excluding "Chaos Legion", for them to be looking at keeping players playing must mean they are seeing reduced player activity outside of the grind for daily rewards...A way to combat this is through rewards as they are doing, another is this "Mini Game Series" They are looking to add in...
Now regarding adding "Chaos Legion" into the loot chests is a great idea, it will help get that 15M number down quicker so means we can get to the airdrops even quicker! Whilst the drop rates are low, @MatthewRosen confirmed today that their looking at dropping around 20k chaos packs through this a month!
