After winning this gold medal, team USA should already thinking about the game in 2024. It was a thin win against France earlier today. The blue print is easy to mange knowing defense will help your offense in the long shot. Team USA has so many players to pick from. Many of the guys you see today may not fit the bill in three years. Even the coaching staff could change in long term.
I see a coach like Steve Kerr could be in contention replacing Popovich. Steve is everybody's friend and his tenure at Golden States speak volume. A guy like Draymond Green could be back to help with the defense. Lavine should be back with Jason Tatum. They are so young how they play the game. I know Trae Young could be there as well.
Having gold in your basketball cv shows that you can compete anywhere against the World's best. Jrue should be back as well implementing a solid defense. Kevin should be back knowing leadership is crucial in peak time. Zion is another one that should complement team USA. Bam mad a splash to mount a defense. Kevin Booker will refine his plays and will be more consistent on the offensive side. The pool of players available for team USA is beyond the demand. A guy like Jimmy Butler should give it a run. Curry should play to bring his three point shot. The list can go on and on. Why not bring a LeBron for a last party in 2024. Kawhi is another piece with PG that will cement the gold from day one. Injuries always play its role each season.
