This is not new theory for a business to move managers around. It happen that when you are in a position
for a while productivity stalls. For some folks they excel at what they do. That is not the case in the NBA. Some coaches
stayed at their position for a while like coach Sloan with Utah, He start by coaching the Bulls but spent 23 years with the Jazz.
You are missed coach Sloan.
Right now while many coaches lost their job due to unfortunate reasons, some coaches keep their job for a while.
In Miami Spoelstra has been around for a while and still coaching strong with Pat Riley in the background.
We have in San Antonio, Popovich. He remind me in a way Belichic style. No fun just come and play basket.
He is a winning coach and I think he is a coach for the US team as well.
Carlisle is another coach staying with one team for a while. Just say goodbye to Maverick and now he will be
the new head coach of the Pacers. He is no strange to see coach going back to places they know. I guess the relationship
was amicable and the door remains open for him. I think Rick is more an offensive guy than defensive. Hopefully he gather
a team of assistant that can help on that manner.
For the past two years, 2019-2020, 15 coaches jobs have been flipped. Out of the 15 remaining 7 for this year. Opportunity arises
and the style of the game changes. Many new faces in the coaching booth making their way into the league.
Hopefully more minorities will represent as well in the coaching staff. We know for sure the assistant position are loaded with minorities and it shows where we are heading.
From the vacancies of this season, I heard Jason kidd could get the Maverick position. Carlisle is at Pacers. Nate Macmillan at the Hawks giving Giannis headache. Chris Finch is at Timberwolves replacing Ryan Saunders. Ryan only last one season and moved on.
Trail Blazers job is still open where Billups or Kidd could get it.
Terry Stotts could get employment at the Magic after being let go from Trail Blazers.
Pelicans job is pretty interesting for many reasons. It could be the first team in the NBA with a female coach. Pelicans is a young team and they will get better. She is already an assistant and knows the guys already.
Scott Brooks lost the Wizards job and a long list envy this capital team job. Many candidates to replace Brooks for the Washington position are Wes Unseld Jr., Sam Cassell, Becky Hammon, Kenny Atkinson and Mark Jackson.
Mark Jackson is doing a great job as a broadcaster. Maybe he missed the headache of being a coach again. The pay will not be bad if you recall what he did at Warriors and Steve Kerr finish the job.
Another exciting news belong to Becky Hammon. She played for the Russian team even though she is an American. It was a business decision in the sport world. She is a fierce competitor. Once she is the first female head coach in the NBA for the Spurs while Popovich was ejected in a game against the Lakers. Who won that game ? Lakers won that game. Sooner or later the door will open for her.
Of all the coaches Brad Stevens got the best of all. After some 8 years, he got promoted as president of Basketball.
Celtics saw a bright mind so they promote him to stay with the organization. We will see how he will do from this transistion.
Two days of great hoops, today and tomorrow. We will see if Bucks will fall back to 0-2 or even the series.
