The Kings Park And Botanic Garden is one of the popular tourist destinations in Perth, Australia and a trip to Perth is incomplete without a visit to the famous Park. Covering an area of 400 acres, it is one of the world's largest and most beautiful inner-city parks. The Park is a popular spot for picnics, treks, cultural and ceremonial activities, and it houses a remarkable collection of Western Australian flora. Two-thirds of the park is designated as bushland, providing a habitat for local ecological diversity with the balance being cultivated gardens.
The park is an ideal place to appreciate flora in its natural habitat and many varieties of wildflowers are found here.

My favorite part of the Park is the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, where I am able to walk among the treetops and take in breathtaking views of the metropolitan skyline and Swan River.
The Giant Boab 'Gija Jumulu' was transported over a distance of 3,200km from Warmun in Western Australia's Kimberley region to Kings Park in Perth in July 2008. The 750-year-old tree weighs 36 tonnes and stands 14 meters tall and eight meters wide.
Climbing the 101 steps of the spiraling DNA Tower, I was enjoyed a spectacular view aerial view of the Park.
The Water Garden was extensively expanded in 1999 to commemorate the centenary of Western Australia's women's suffrage. The Garden depicts a creek with granite rocks and outdoor art works by women.
During the summer events season, the Pioneer Women's Memorial is a spectacular focal point in the Water Garden, providing an ideal venue for music and theatre.
In memory of all Western Australian firemen who have served and given their lives in safeguarding our communities, the Firefighters' Memorial Grove was erected in 2000.
Besides being just a tourist attraction, Kings Park is also known for scientific study, cutting-edge horticulture, environmental stewardship, and public education. We spent the whole morning admiring both the flora diversity and the scenic views of Perth's skyline. We even packed our lunch and had a great pinic.
