We decided that we wanted to eat Thai food and so we went to Nirawan9 Restaurant 9 (the official name is a mouthful) for dinner.
Nirawan9 Restaurant is a cozy and inviting Thai restaurant. Located at Tabuan Road in the heart of Kuching, it offers a wide range of authentic Thai dishes.
There are touches of Thai decorations in the restaurant.
Since it was a Saturday night, the was packed with customers and the chefs working hard to dish out orders as fast as they could. The service was fast and we were seated at our table promptly.
For our dinner, we ordered Tom Yam Soup, Pandan Chicken and pineapple fried rice.
The Tom Yam soup has a strong flavor of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. The coconut milk lends it a nice creamy sweetness.
The Pandan Chicken is very tasty.
My favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice. The prawns are of reasonable size and I love the fact that it is served in a carved pineapple fruit. This adds an element of novelty to the dish.
Overall the food was nice and not too spicy. The decorations created a cozy ambiance. The service was fast and the prices reasonable.
It was a pleasant experience dining at Nirwana Restaurant and I will definitely come back for more!
What I didn't like about the restaurant was that there were very limited parking spaces available for customers. My advice is that if you are coming in a big group, it is better to carpool.
