How wonderful to be up in the mountains, an amazing area to be hiking in! It's interesting to see the different plants especially the ones that I cultivate in my garden and you have growing wild there!
Your Osmorhiza Chilensis has a common name of mountain sweet cicely and I cultivate it in my garden for I love to use the leaves stewed with rhubarb and the seeds are like black licorice candy to me. I also cultivate the Valerian and make a tincture for when I get a bit wired, I take a swig of it and then I can relax (haven't had to use it for awhile for my meditation practice seems to keep me from becoming to wired.)
The plant you called sarsaparilla is a currant not sarsaparilla. You got the latin name right- Ribes magellanicum, the only thing kinda common to the sarsaparilla is the berries.
Love that you shared your adventures out in nature and I'm looking forward to seeing more from future adventures!
