Well, this week our well-known and good friend @galenkp invites us again to participate in his weekend challenges and contests for the 116th edition of the also well-known and popular "Weekend-Engagement Concept" that punctually and without fail he offers us on Friday of each week. Click the links above to read the rules.
Perhaps I should confess that I have not participated in one of the challenges of his WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community for a long time. But it has never been for anything in particular. But rather, that generally the guidelines to follow and the handful of suggested subjects to be developed regarding his proposals for the week, very often these are highly interesting and captivating as to make our neurons grind.
And as such, I almost always find myself in the situation of wanting to choose one of the suggested subjects and expand myself extensively on everything I would want to convey and everything that I have to say on the subject. But I don't always make it.
And I can't make it, because unfortunately for several months now, due to heavy rains in the area where I live. I've been suffering from an abundant and random series of power outages and lousy internet connection that once it is restored in an always unstable, intermittent and irregular way after several hours. As you will understand, by the time it's restored, all the inspiration of what I had been developing and all the enthusiasm for writing what I was writing already have vanished.
And of course, it also catches me in such a bad mood. That generally it often prevents me from recovering the eloquence and excellence of my prose in the same conditions and expressiveness as I had been developing it. So, I just get a little frustrated and usually abandon the intention of squeeze my memory to try to recover my previous train of thought and the emotion already lost. Since I know that at any moment, from one moment to another, a new blackout will occur again! ¡Holy Crap! :)
But hey, at least today it hasn't rained. And one of the five concepts that G-dog is proposing us to develop this week. I found it attractive enough as to try to write something quickly about it and to push my luck for a while until the next blackout.
And this is the subject I've chosen from the five proposed:
Finish the sentence
- This weekend I found out I only have one year to live and I...
If I had my life to live over, I would try to make more mistakes. I would relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I know of very few things that I would take seriously. I would take more chances. I would be crazier. I would be less hygienic. I would go to more places. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less bran and beans.
I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I would have fewer imaginary ones.
You see, I have been one of those fellows who live prudently and sanely, hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I have had my moments. But if I had it to do over again, I would have more of them. A lot more. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day.
I've been one of those persons who never go anywhere without a thermometer, a gargle, a raincoat and a parachute. If I had it to do over, I would travel lighter than I have.
It may be too late to unteach an old dog old tricks, but perhaps a word from the unwise may be of benefit to a coming generation. I may help them to fall into some of the pitfalls I have avoided.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.
I always tried to make everything perfect and I understood that really, everything is as imperfect as it should be (including me).
I do only what I must, in the best way I can and that others do what they want. I saw so many dogs running aimlessly that I learned to be a turtle and appreciate the journey. I learned that in this life nothing is certain, only death... That's why I enjoy the moment and what I have.
I learned that no one belongs to me and I learned that they will be with me as long as they want and should be. And whoever is really interested in me will let me know at all times and against anything.
I believe that true friendship does exist, but it is not easy to find it. That the one who loves you will always show you without the need for you to ask. That being faithful is not an obligation, but a real pleasure when love is the owner of you. That is living! Life is beautiful with its comings and goings, with its flavors and without flavors.
I learned to live and enjoy every detail, I learned from mistakes. But I don't live thinking about them, because they are always a bitter memory that prevents you from moving forward, well, there are always irremediable mistakes.
Strong wounds are never erased from your heart, but there is always someone really willing to heal them with God's help. Walk hand in hand with God, everything always improves. And don't try too hard, the best things in life happen when you least expect them. Don't look for them, they will look for you. ¡The best is yet to come!
These two cute texts that hopefully you've just read as Chapter One and Chapter Two in this post and that maybe looks like some kind of known prose or popular poems. Obviously it was not generated spontaneously and suddenly emerged originally from my extravagant, eloquent and unique "original" brain.
And even though I completely agree with the general sentiment and message of what both texts are trying to convey and which it is precisely the same thing and the words that I would have written from my own inspiration and guts to respond to G-dog's challenge. Well, let me tell you that it is not yet known who were the original authors.
Over time it has been widely known that these texts and poems (especially the first) in their different but very similar versions have been attributed to various and multiple authors. Some very famous writers and some others not so famous.
Yeah, allow me now to try to respond with my very own and "original" words to the subject/concept that I chose to develop and write about from the five different proposals of the challenge that G-dog set up for us for this week.
¿Me? I would simply dedicate myself to asking for small loans that did not need collateral or bails nor anything in all the banks that I could and I would spend my life way more peacefully and cheerfully just working fewer hours than I currently work. I would try to go out more and visit more often the few friends that I still have and are still alive. And I definitely wouldn't worry about saving anything and would live without planning anything beforehand anymore.
And with the Fiat money of those bank loans with low risk and just to entertain myself. You can bet I would buy a ton of Hive. Perhaps a million or two of liquid Hive from the cryptocurrency exchanges. With the sole purpose of making Power Up and increase my HP just a few notches up to "curate" content on our social network organically, properly, actively, in person and in real time without automations of any kind to distribute the tokens from the rewards pool way better.
Since my "content curation" would not respond to flattery, hypocrisy, or commitments with anyone and therefore I wouldn't be subjected nor with the obligation to be accountable to anyone nor to please anyone's whims or points of view in the least. But more than all and above all. I would Power Up that couple million Hive mainly to downvote at the 100% of my heavy and smashing Voting Power eventually zeroing their rewards and payouts. To anyone who comes to me again to request or ask me what I have already explained so many times before.
Like by instance, asking me why I don't usually include the "sources" of the images that I include and use in my posts. Or that they would come here and tell me that they would love to "curate" my content, but they are prevented from doing so because their "curator" patrons and those who have delegated HP to them for that specific function in their names and benefit, they require that including the sources of the images in our posts is an essential requirement to guarantee "original" content.
Even when knowing that it is an absolute nonsense when it comes to guaranteeing "original content" based just on that premise. As I guess that here in this post, I have already demonstrated it pretty well with the two historical poems that I have highlighted. Nonetheless, I am aware that all this is just a matter of different criteria.
