There were lots of skeptics of his vision back then, and those skeptics remain pretty thick, in the world of 2022. Their fundamental argument is that we don't need poetry, music, art and so forth... we need auto parts, lawn mowers, razors and toasters, along with pizza delivery.
Once Upon a time...
And no, I don't think the old slur "learn to code!" holds up here. Sure, we will need coders... but we won't need tens of millions of coders, and particularly not as the AI increasingly learns to code itself.
