Great question here, they are going to be using zkEVM in Layer 2 rollups for ETH. The rollups are going to batch multiple transactions into one. I linked an image from the #Polygon article here along with the article itself.

In theory, ZKP (Zero Knowledge Proof) should allow for more privacy, with that being said the release doesn't mention much about the capabilities of ZKP. I linked an article that gives a great breakdown of how ZKP's function

I believe there is a strong possibility of greater privacy within this setup, however, crypto is becoming increasingly centralized by governments. Many companies wish to maintain control of their coins/tokens to make sure they are able to fall within legal boundaries that are on the horizon. Take #USDC (Owned by Circle) they are able to track and control what happens with their Token. While Coins like #MONERO are designed from the ground up to be privacy-focused and free. If Monero gets banned in the US for money laundering potential like Tornado Cash just did, it could really hurt some folks. The question of privacy will be huge over the next few years and I am sure we'll see some sort of schism similar to the "Darkweb" where some folks will be willing to use banned cryptos while others stay on the more centralized path. If governments continue banning crypto projects because they are too private aka offer money laundering potential this split could happen sooner rather than later. Overall the programming potential for crypto privacy is increasing, whether or not it is allowed or fully implemented will be the bigger question I think.
