Here I am back with my experience on 2nd day travel to the the Mount Mardi base camp of Nepal.
After 3 days hike to the Forest camp, we woke up early in the morning at 5am, enjoyed the sunrise and had our breakfast. After some refreshing moments, we were all set to have our 2nd day hike. Our next destination was Rest camp.
We had many encounters with the Himalayan yaks also known as chauri gaai in local language
After 2 hours of continuous walk, we reached the Badal Danda and got to witness the great holy mount Fishtail and Annapurna south.
After having some snacks and coffee at the Badal Danda and headed to our next station high camp. High camp is situated at an altitude of 3580 metres from the sea level. After 3 hours of continuous walk in the deep forest and under drizzling rainfall, we reached the high camp at 7:15 pm and took the hotel package at 2500 per person. It included the dinner, hot water, snacks, night stay cost and breakfast. We woke up at 3 am and walked for around 4 hours to reach the Mount Mardi base camp.
The great Mount Fishtail, Mount Annapurna south and the Mount Hiunchuli were present side by side.
The temperature was -2 degrees centigrade and the cold air cracked our cheeks and lips. Despite this the white snow filled mountain view gave us a great pleasure and a sense of pride as such high elevation mountains are present in my country.
