Hi,
Personally, I almost only play tournaments, but only online. I've played live before, but very little and a long time ago. Since the buyins are much larger and the costs are high, this is not really an option for me. It will probably never be clear what I would be enough for there. However, in online tournaments, I can produce double-digit ROI in the long term at the micro, low levels.
However, cash games are not for me at all, not even online. I play for a maximum of promotions, with a minimum of buyin, at the micro level.
Patience is not a problem most of the time, of course, sometimes everyone runs out...😀
By the way, if you would also like to try online poker, we play freerolls twice a week at Rebel Poker (Wed. and Sat.). If you decide to join, please let us know your Rebel username in the comments. ATM, it's more about fun and community building (still everybody takes it seriously 😀 ), but who knows how it will be in the next bull run, if it can grow to the previous level, on Steem.
By the way, I think the most important thing for any tournament is a stable pre-flop game, with a fixed starting hand range. This can be developed with a relatively minimal investment of time, adapting to the field.
GL!
