you do it a bit wrong. you'd had to start sending apps weeks ago, before arriving in UK. a list of employment agencies, if you are willing to take more or less any job:
Employment Agencies in Nottinghamshire
Staffline is relatively a big agency, and its headquarter is in Nottingham. probably worth to give a try. i worked for them for a while, one of the few, which paid normally, never miss-counted (always downside.. :) ) my hours.
indeed and all other job sites not so useful, if you are looking for a warehouse job or hospitality, health care. print out 10-20 CV and visit these employment agencies. probably most of them are in the city center, so you can do it within couple of days. (if you think a bit about that, you will be the last one, who they call, but if you go there personally, max their previous employees are front of you) all jobs without any kind of qualifications requirement, like that. ALWAYS say yes! you will sort out the rest, especially, if its about 'when can you start'. they wont wait for you.
also the hospitality jobs, you should find retail, hospitality job within 1-2 days in September. they are always sort with staff in this period of the year.
you are a man, probably the currier jobs would pay the best from these kind of jobs. some kind of delivery driver, van driver.
good luck!
