Around a month ago, my guildmate, @quickdrawchev, posted his article: 0 to 1000: Get Out of Bronze at the Start of the Season, FAST! It got quite a bit of attention from the community because of how smart the whole thing was. Now that I have some accounts in Bronze, I decided to check the strategy out since it was slightly outdated.
These are the 4 cards you need to rent. The rest of the strategy involves using the Unicorn Mustang as your tank and placing as many meat shields all around. It's a pretty straight forward spam that doesn't require much thinking. The win rate he showed was pretty intense and it's not something I was able to replicate. I decided to switch it up with my version!
Believe it or not, these cost a total of less than 10 DEC to rent. The main focus is still a Mylor spam for the Thorns ability, but the main difference is we have the ooze for slow and a chicken for extra protection. In addition, I rented a Grum Flameblade for the times that I wanted to mix it up and use the fire team.
In this match, the team is highly prepared to deal with both melee damage and magic damage. The enemy barely did any damage to my tank, and it was a simple matter of destroying them from the front.
When the mana cost is high, this is when it's time to bring in Grum Flameblade! Tarsa works really well with him, as long as you don't forget to bring repair! Make sure to bring in other damage type units to destroy the enemy back line as Grum focuses on the front. It's a different kind of satisfaction to see bloodlust in action.
This strategy only works if you stay in bronze 3. Once you go to bronze 2 and above, there will be times that the Earth Splinter wouldn't be playable. If you ever plan to use this strategy, you MUST stay in bronze 3. The objective of this strategy is to increase the rating as high as possible, so when you do rent, you can start renting for silver the next day.
I started around 400 rating, and only used 25% of my ECR. I won 22/29 battles. The earlier matches I lost because I was trying to understand how to use it, but eventually I got it!
