The quality of the Manga is good, the story is good and so are the characterizations and details. The Manga runs in a really good weekly mangazine along with other popular titles such as Fuuka(already ended), Koe no Katachi(already ended) and such that I don't get why this one doesn't gains that kind of popularity.
The name of the author of this manga is Hikaru Katsuki and no one gives a F about her. Anyone who reads my posts that says that they are interested in the name of the author is a liar, XD.
I think the weebs that reads my post(if there are any) are more interested into the translation and Japanese parts, because, you know, maybe they are interested in Japanese. Well, if there are folks out there who wants to learn basic Japanese, please just do tell me in the comments section and I will try to do my best to make a very easy to understand and relateable post. And those two, sentences lead my post into another direction.
Baby Steps is an Anime about a guy named Eiichiro(A-chan) who is a good student(because he always gets a perfect score in class) that gets interested in tennis. I wouldn't be telling why and how because as always, I do not like spoiling the show itself for the sake of those who are interested into watching or reading it.
The animation of Baby Steps is good, not that spectacular but you can call it decent because it presents itself in a proper way but not exaggerated. The story is interesting and moderately progressive. There is sports, rivalry, some comedy and romance in it that will make you not get bored along the 200 plus chapters that you will find online.
The show itself is something that can be watched by everyone, when I say everyone, I mean even children can watch this because they will be able to appreciate the actions of the characters without having the risk of them witnessing something sensitive(like in Citrus).
This Anime compared to other sports anime or Manga has no exaggerated elements into it like making balls be covered into flames, crazy abilities such as being invisible in the court(that idea is f***ng BS but I find it entertaining) and crazy details such as impact animation from blows such as punches like in Hajime no Ippo(Knock Out).
Haikyu is also in a way similar but the exaggeration in Baby Steps is way lower because there are minor representations of wild birds in Haikyu such as crows(they really look cool when they fly though) . Hence, Karasuno's Karasu in the name means crow.
I am giving this Anime an exploding score of 9.8 because I feel satisfied about this Anime and so is the Manga. The work itself is for general audiences that makes me easier for it to be able to suggest to everyone. I really have no complains in this work other than just it's exposure and popularity, I think if the Manga had been released into a way more influential Mangazine like Weekly Jump Square the Manga could had bursted into popularity. I think Piierot Studios(the one that made the Anime) handled the Anime adaptation properly and on the top of that NHK(a television channel in Japan) produced that Anime adapatation. So, I guess, thats just life for Baby Steps. Life is unfair.
Well, that is all for today, thank you for visiting my post, hope you guys have a nice day despite of how the market looks right now.
