We've had our Isuzu seven days, the XTR pick up time has come to drop it off, make sense? it will. Normally Peter the guy who delivers would come to the house but due to social distancing and fact it was a very nice day, I though I'd drop it off at Silverdale Station about a mile from the house.
It is a lovely walk with lots to see, I arrived at the station parked up and waited for the train to pull up on the platform.
A couple of minutes later it arrived and Peter wandered over with his mask and gloves as is the law now to travel on public transport.
I handed him the keys and we then stood about 2 m apart and had a chat and put the world to rights he had a quick look around seen we hadn't damaged anything, then he set off.
I then started my walk home, I headed out of the Golf club car park and through the bottom gate luckily there is a footpath that runs right across the Golf links, I said hello to a golfer and carried on, on my merry way.
I crossed the Row and headed into the woods down a footpath, my first destination Burton well, some of the footpath is rather narrow, however it has very low footfall which is very good especially now.
The pictures show it is a blazingly hot day, very sunny even at 10am therefore even under the trees it was quite close feeling.
The photos paint a picture of the route I took home lots of interesting things to see, steep steps and limestone everywhere, even some wall builders repairing a dry stone wall.
I headed across Lamberts Meadow which was bone dry last time I walked across it the water was up to my kneecaps, it was quite strange to be honest to see it completely walkable.
I stopped to have a quick look in the well and then headed towards 'The Green' and then onto the main road and towards home.
This is a view right at the top of the drive in the distance you'll see a sandy beach and Morecambe Bay which is on the Irish Sea just, around the corner, the Kent Estuary.
I was home, and no more cars for 2 weeks, then we have the new Honda Jazz.
