Week of 02/25/19 to 03/03/19
Here we go again, another top 20 domain sales from the last week. Right off the bat you can see that there was something strange going on with number 1 and 2 on the list. They're the same domain and both sold from DropCatch!?! They also came through as having the same date of sale, so I think something fishy is going on here. I'm going to guess that what happened was the domain went through at auction and was reported as sold and then the buyer had issues (for whatever reason) getting the funds transferred in time. As a result the domain was then sold to the 2nd highest bidder. Pretty crazy, but it's entirely possible that the original winner had the money but couldn't get a wire done in time. This happens sometimes on domain auction sites. They almost need to be a little more flexible with their rules and time limits, but I'm not sure that is exactly what happened here. Either way, it's interesting!

Number 2 (and 1) on the list (fivenines.com) has a recorded sales history. As I mentioned in my opening to this post, that this is likely an error with getting funds transferred in time. In a sense it really doesn't have a recorded sales history, but what the hell we'll put it here.
Number 4 (kaa.com) has a sales history. The domain sold for $14,000 USD on April 24th, 2008 at Sedo. That's a gain of $5999 dollars in nearly 11 years.
Number 5 (niq.com) has a sales history. The domain sold for $8,750 USD on February 6th, 2008 at NamePros. That's a gain of $10,250 dollars in 11 years.
Number 8 (945.net) has a sales history. The domain sold for $675 USD on January 19th, 2010 at SnapNames. That's a gain of $9,324 dollars in 9 years.
Number 12 (geburtstagsgeschenk.de) has a sales history. The domain has sold at least two other times. Once for $2,250 USD on 2011-02-22 at Sedo and again for $3,263 USD on 2010-01-20 at Sedo.
Number 16 (goodrestaurants.com) has a sales history. The domain sold previously for $3,338 USD on 2016-02-28 at GoDaddy. Just about doubled down on that one!

Today's list was dominated by .com taking all 12 of the 20 spots, .de took 5 spots, 1 .org, 1 .im, and 1 .net.
My favorite domains from this list are tbn.com, blackball.com, and primebet.com. These are the type of names I like.
