Welcome to Recent Developments. In this series I post about domain names that sold recently and have since become developed into an actual website. In other words, this is a focus on end user sales and what they are doing with their recent domain purchase!
End user info in the domain name industry can be extremely valuable. You can learn a lot from this type of data, because it shows you what an end user price was for a particular domain name. Hopefully you can apply that knowledge to your own domain investing both on the buy as well as the sale side. If you know what people are willing to pay for a domain it can help you price your domains right to sell.
On top of all that, it's fun to see what's new on the web!
Three domains to highlight today that all sold last month in April. I've got a couple of 4 figure sales and one 5 figure sale. Interestingly, our top seller (the five figure sale) isn't a .com! It's a .org domain. And perhaps more interestingly, this is maybe the first time in the Recent Developments series where I've actually liked all the domains! Let's have a look...
The first domain is OrganicAvenue.com. This domain sold for $5,650 at GoDaddy on April 7th, 2019. The site up is a blog style site offering product reviews and articles about healthy living.
As for the domain, I like this one! I think this is a great brand and a solid 2 word .com. Hopefully the angle the owner is taking will pay for it!
Next we have Office.org. This is our big 5 figure sale! It sold for $22,000 at Sedo on April 8th, 2019. The site appears to be some kind of SEO data related software.
I don't buy .org domains too often, but I do like this one. I think it's a solid keyword that kind of works in the .org extension. I wouldn't have paid 5 figures as an investor but clearly names like this can sell at those prices to end users!
Finally, we have RedCrane.com. This domain currently redirects to redcrane-group.com. The site belongs to a machinery and equipment company serving the international construction market. This is clearly a HUGE upgrade to their current domain and I would fully expect that they will eventually make the move to this newly purchased domain.
I like this domain too! Again, it's a solid 2 word .com that is brandable and this just fits so much better with this end user than their current domain which is longer and contains the dreaded hyphen.
Anyway, that concludes this edition of Recent Developments.
