Sunderbans is the stretch of a mangrove forests located in the southern tip of West Bengal which touches the Arabian Sea.. The area of Sundarbans is about 4,110 square km out of which about 1,700 square km is occupied by rivers, canals and creeks.

The delta is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger.
