In my previous post you could already see that for the renewal of the museum, white was clearly chosen as the predominant color...
But that's not quite right. In fact, after the renovation you now have 2 museums in 1 building. One part is reserved for the old masters such as Rubens, Van Eyck and others, and another part for more contemporary work. The photos I've published so far are about the new part and so there's a lot of white to see. For the other part, warm and dark colors have been chosen...but pictures will follow.
Anyway, white can be very beautiful, but also very difficult to maintain. In any case, I had my doubts when I saw that floor for the first time... and today, a few days after the official opening, visitors are already being asked to wear shoes with a light sole if possible. I'm curious what that floor will look like in a few years 😂
Oh, and for those who haven't followed me or this series...just to be clear, the bottom photo is what it looked like during the renovation in 2017...I wouldn't want to deter anyone from visiting the museum 😉
Just follow me here to make sure you don’t miss any new work. As you can see below, you will be in good company... my 3 skinny friends are waiting for you 😉
Although I spend most of my time here, you can also find me in other places… just take your pick…
