46 people were killed, including 5 children, 9 unidentified and 9 people are missing after the Russian missile attack on a residential building in Dnipro. 22 wounded remain in hospitals, including 3 children. The search and rescue operation lasted almost three days. 39 people were saved. According to rough estimates, 236 apartments are beyond repair.
14 people died, including a child, as a result of a helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv region. Top officials of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs were on board at the time of the incident. All of them died.
The key hotspots with ongoing heavy fighting are Soledar and Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Russian troops continue their offensive in the surrounding areas of these towns. ISW believes that Ukrainian forces are likely not holding positions in the town of Soledar itself.
Joint flight and tactical training exercises of Russian and Belarusian military aviation have begun in Belarus. They are expected to run from January 16 to February 1. The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported that all airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus were involved in the training.
