Tovar Colony was founded in 1843, when the Venezuelan government of the time ceded this territory for the settlement of German immigrants belonging to the Grand Duchy of Baden. It was one of the places I did not know in Venezuela, so I had to enjoy it to the fullest.

On April 8th of this year, a total solar eclipse took place over large parts of Mexico and the USA and for the first time in my life I had the chance to experience one myself. When I found out about the cosmic event, I already knew that I would be in Mexico at the time and as my girlfriend and I were planning a beach vacation anyway, we decided to go to the coastal town of Mazatlán in the state of Sinaloa to watch the spectacle. In this post, I'll tell you about our impressions of it.
