Our guide pointed us to the distant solar panels which play a vital role in lives of the residents. The availability of electricity did help in attracting visitors, paving way to more homestay offers on the island. But according to ate, they cannot rely solely on tourism yet."

🥈 Splendor and Solitude in the Great North Country by @corvidae

"Slow drive along the Dempster Highway. Barely any cars on the road at all, save for the camper truck couple from Michigan I've been playing leapfrog with all morning.

"Lunchtime?" I hear one ask the other at a must-stop turnout.

Long wait at a construction stop for the pilot car. Ravens overhead. There's no rush. Nowhere to rush to. No rush hour. Just a rushing red river down below."

"After visiting the church, we decided to take a walk in the yard and enjoy the strange season, which I can call winter-spring. It was very warm!
