Hi everyone it's @lizanomadsoul here introducing the Sunday edition of the #TravelDigest.
Another day of great places and stories around the globe to read about! This time we have great stories from Poland, Italy, Spain, The US, Tasmania, Portugal, Turkey, and The Philippines - So a little bit of everything! - Enjoy ;)
In today's post, I wanted to change what I bring here, the main topic remains art, but this time I did not want to talk about the classic Tuscan village, but I wanted to bring something really special, which I have seen several times as an art lover, but each time it has always struck me in a particular way because in my opinion it is a very impressive place, and certainly the person who built it was a very eclectic and strange person. But I am talking about the famous Rocchetta Mattei a castle that was built around 1800 in about 20 years, built by Count Cesare Mattei, a very strange and peculiar person in fact he managed to create a very special environment and certainly a place to visit at least once in your life, for those who come from the Bologna area.

This post has been long overdue. Two years to be exact. It was in March 2021 when I visited the site of what used to be a Nazi concentration camp in Plaszow, the southern suburban neighborhood of the Polish city of Krakow. Why it took me so long to get to working on this post you wonder? Because the place is so overwhelmingly gloomy and depressive that I put the pictures that I took there deep in my Krakow photo file and haven麓t really dared to look them again. But I couldn麓t forget about my visit of this tragic place and I knew that soon or later, I should and I would write a post about it because we need to commemorate these events, no matter how hard it is, to make sure that such a bleak history won麓t repeat itself.

Florence, or Firenze in Italian, is a city in central Italy that has a rich history dating back to the Roman era. It is widely regarded as the birthplace of the Renaissance and is home to many famous works of art and architecture, including Michelangelo's David statue and Brunelleschi's dome on the Duomo. One of the most interesting facts about Florence is that it was ruled by the powerful Medici family for centuries, who were major patrons of the arts and played a significant role in the city's cultural and economic growth.
