Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. I love coming across less popular but interesting locations on Pinmapple, or at least those that I haven't visited before. Today's Top 3 Pinmapple posts are those type of places that I hope to visit one day. They include a city dubbed the Athens of Cuba, in Cuba of course, Jerusalem in Israel, where Catholics, Orthodox Jews and Muslims all coexists, and finally a beach in Mexico where you can release baby turtles back into the wild. Enjoy!!!
" »Matanzas is one of the least interesting Cuban provincial capitals« judges a renowned travel guide. No world cultural heritage like 100 kilometers further west in Havana, no Caribbean beach paradise like 40 kilometers east near Varadero. On the bay of Matanzas with its protected harbor there is simply a gray industrial city with a shabby center. Many houses are like ruins, hard to believe that anyone lives there. As bad as the image of Matanzas is, no guidebook forgets to mention that the city bears the proud title of »Athens of Cuba«. "

" Almost without realizing it, you find yourself submerged in the tiny streets of the Arab market that, as I mentioned recently, coexists with the Christian Via Dolorosa. This indicates that, next to the market, we are walking exactly along the path that Jesus traveled with the cross on his back, before being crucified."

" Never once did a turtle go the wrong way or turn around as if to say I don't want to go into this deep, dark and dangerous sea. I guess they don't know what they don't know. They keep on doing what they are innately suppose to do - go towards the sea and hopefully survive. "
