On to part 2 of my time in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Back in 2018 I did my first solo trip to SE Asia and spent plenty of time in Chiang Mai. Today we travel back to the times before the pandemic and check out what Chiang Mai was like. Let's visit some temples and spend some time in the jungle with elephants!

🥈 Prambanan: A Temple with a Story of Love and Betrayal, Yogyakarta, Indonesia by @ate.eping

The weather that afternoon certainly set the tone of our visit to the Prambanan Temple, a Hindu temple in Jogjakarta in the island of Java, Indonesia. The heavy clouds foreboding with rain seemed to tell us of the ancient gods' temperament, and it did rain. And rain is a blessing. What a great start to our ten-day tour around Java. That afternoon, we have just arrived in Jogjakarta (or Jogja, as it is commonly referred to by the locals). The Christmas break had officially begun for us teachers, and it was the first visit for most of us here.

🥉 Skyline track - the extended hike, Roys peak, New Zealand by @sunnyvo

This is my first post after hive reach an all-time high, though everything seems to be stable now, I am so excited to be on the train and witness this. On that positive note, today I would take you to another popular track in Wanaka township, a very scenic town in the Otago region. Did I tell you that I spent a fair amount of time in this area? Yeah, most of that time, you would find me on the mountain. While Roys peak is popular because of that famous pose everyone often does at the saddle, I think not many people know about the skyline track which is an extended version of Roys peak. I actually hiked Roys peak twice in different seasons and the second time I did the whole Skyline track which is a totally different, yet exciting experience.
