Introduction

Hi everyone @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. I just finished watching the Eurovision Song Contest this evening. It's a European annual singing contest joined in by Australia for some bizarre reason. This year it was hosted by the Netherlands and despite Covid, they put on a damn good life show. Italy won with over 500 points. Pity about UK, we came last as usual, and ended up with zero points. Why do so many people like to visit UK but don't like our songs...? I hope today's edition of the #TravelDigest will get more support than UK did in the Eurovision. 馃榾

馃 Vieng Kham, Laos - City to City Tour 062 by fronttowardenemy@fronttowardenemy

" The boat driver guided us through a very long cave in a very unstable boat. At every moment, it felt like the skinny boat was going to tip and fill with water. At one point the river became very shallow and we had to get out and drag the boat to a deeper part of the river. After a long ride through the cave, we emerged into an are that instantly made me think of Jurassic Park."

馃 Reflection of streetlights in St Petersburg _ My entry for Reflections contest round 18 by lanngoc@lanngoc

"Being honest Russia was the furthest place I have ever travelled from my home in Vietnam. There was one night I went out for a walk in St Petersburg and to my amazement I saw a lot of amazing light displays, these light displays especially during Christmas time were new to me and I was really impressed by them hence why I had to take photos which I have put in this blog for people to see."

馃 Dordogne River Valley Series : The French G卯tes by discoveringarni@discoveringarni

"I enjoyed watching this community of pilots that knew each other for a long time. There was this feeling of friendship and familial bond shared between each guest connected by their passion for flying. All I remember was feeling good around their company. Later, we were guided towards a long hall with a long solid timber table for lunch. There were probably around twenty people.Excellently cooked pasta was served along with salad and freshly baked baguettes. Bread baskets were passed around. There were wine glasses and conversations and laughter that filled the room."
