Since the 19th century, a trafficable dam makes it possible to cross Lake Zurich at the closest point between Rapperswil and Hurden. Even the wooden footbridge still exists, 841 meter long, two and a half meter wide, modernly designed wooden bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland with a wonderful view to the Alps.
