I have been going home late every day so I have never noticed the updates of my vegetables, fruits, and spices in my mini garden not until today that I got home early since I finished my tasks at the workplace earlier.
Whenever I arrive early I always do earthing on the grass, watering the plants, and checking my crops. I have noticed that most of my crops have fruits just like my newly planted lemon. And here are some quick snaps after I watered it.
It was nice to see that my mini lemon trees were bearing fruits. I am assuming that weeks from now, I will be harvesting the fruits. How I love lemon not to mention that I love to use it in a marinade, in making a sauce, in cooking, and even in making a fresh lemon juice.
I have four small trees of lemon at home. However, I have also noticed that caterpillars thrive on the leaves. But still, I am happy because the three small lemon trees had more fruits. I am so excited to consume the fruits at the right time.
Beside the mini lemon trees, a mini garden of bitter gourds was planted. Since I do not have much space at home to plant crops, I simply maximize every corner of the fence and even apply vertical and urban gardening especially since I am living in a subdivision.
I am so happy to see that my bitter gourds are growing well. There were two portions of the fence wherein the bitter gourds were planted. And the ones that had fruits for now were the bitter gourds on the front side fence.
And here are some quick snapshots of the first bitter gourds that I was able to harvest earlier. I was the happiest since this is one of my favorite vegetables, so I always make sure to have one at home despite the limited space.
The bitter gourds simply climb on the fence and the post on our lawn. As I checked on them, they were healthy and I saw they had many flowers too.
Although I have been busy for the past few weeks, it is nice to know that my garden was in good condition as my crops were continually growing, bearing fruits, and flowers.
The bitter gourds were ascending the tall post and I saw that there were many fruits up and there were plenty of flowers. Honestly, I am very excited to harvest fruits in my garden matter how small my harvest may be.
I was so happy holding my harvest since I could have this for breakfast tomorrow. One of my favorite menus with these vegetables is Bitter gourd with egg. In Filipino recipes, we call it Ampalaya with egg. And it is another delicious recipe from my mini garden including the spices too.
It does not matter how many fruits I could harvest but what matters to me is the great feeling of having my garden and harvest without buying from the market.
