Would you believe an 82-year-old still loves to stroll with me at the Kaamulan grounds in ethnic attire?

I never thought I would have the chance to wear ethnic attire with my 82 years old grandmother when we were strolling at the grounds of Kaamulan in the city of Malaybaly, Bukidnon, last week.

As usual, I am simply wearing casual attire so I can enjoy my day without bothering about the clothes I wear whenever I am traveling somewhere. I got my rubber shoes with me, and this best fits me as I was still recovering from my medial cuneiform fracture a year ago.

When we reached the place, I saw colorful buntings with people of all ages strolling around to witness a yearly bountiful festival at the city popularly known as Kaamulan nationwide. In the native dialect, it means to gather with everyone. Hence, it is not only a festive event of the province, but it is as well unity of the happy faces and hearts of Bukidnon.

Although the weather was so hot and I felt like summer was everywhere, it was still a beautiful day at the grounds because there were lots of special events and local recreation, along with many stalls that offered products of different varieties.

Meanwhile, we happened to pass by a stall that seemed to be a native house surrounded by ethnic products. At first, I thought that it was an exhibit of Bukidnon native and ethnic products. My mind wandered, and I kept asking my grandmother what it was.

Who would never wonder about these beautiful ethnic kinds of stuff that seemed an extraordinary event?

I took quick photos of the kinds of stuff with many wonders about what was happening inside. My wonders led me to explore what was inside.

So to satisfy my queries, I entered inside. Upon entering, I have seen a lot of people taking a picture in the well-decorated area.

I thought it was a photo shoot. Minute by minute passed by, and still, a lot were entering. But as I looked around, I saw many groups entering and waiting for their turn. I then realized that it was a photo opportunity for the festive event.

Here are glimpses of the beautiful souvenirs I took while exploring inside. I got many photos, and I wish I could bring them home, but they were only for display.

And yes, the area was for recreation and photo opportunities, either for free or donation. The proceeds would then be for a cause. I never left the place without putting a penny in the mini penny bank with the hopes that it would help people in need.

Afterward, I asked my grandmother to take pictures of the area. I told her that after her, I would be the one to pose at the ethnic designs, so she would be the one who would take pictures for me. And I was her photographer too.

It was too hard because a lot were waiting. So we had to ensure we could have quick photos as much as possible. And there was no photographer there. I only got my mobile camera, which we used to capture colorful images with our selfies.

When it was our turn, we both wore the ethnic dress in vibrant colors of red, white, yellow, and black. This attire is authentic Bukidnon tribal wear.

And here are the candid poses of my 82-year-old grandmother inside the photo shoot house.

People were looking at her as I was taking pictures since they were amazed at how old my grandmother was and still strolling with me.

I did not remove my comfy wear, and I had a double suit. My clothes were skin tone in color, so I did not mind removing them. And I wore ethnic attire even though I was still wearing my clothes.

Honestly, it was my first time wearing it, although I have been living in Bukidnon for many decades. The Kaamulan Attire was too loose for me, so I put a pin on the sides so it could fit me.

And here are my photos wearing ethnic attire with my clothes on and my rubber shoes.

How funny it is to have loose attire and informal wear, and I felt there was lacking in my wear because I forgot to buy ethnic accessories before going there.

Perhaps I had a lot of candid poses taken by my grandmother, and I have also taken a beautiful photo of my adorable grandmother, who is already 82 years old.

How I wish I would be as young and trendy as her when I turn 82 years old. I wonder if I could reach this age.

My grandmother enjoyed strolling with me on a vast field on the Kaamulan grounds. And indeed, it was a priceless moment to see her happy face with a light heart.

The ethnic attire may be loose for me, but I must say that I loved it so much because of its colorful and vibrant shades. And being with my grandmother on that particular day was one of the most precious moments in my life. Perhaps I found happiness in her eyes!
