When was the last time you let the kite fly in the air? Have you played with the kite recently?
Today I am off from work, so I spent time on the farm and enjoyed the calming sight before me with the idyllic surroundings. And I am always grateful for the beautiful moment to enjoy the simple pleasure of life all around me.
The child within me reemerged. Perhaps I love how the kite flew freely. I wish I were as free as the kite without burdens, just a moment of freedom, escape, and boundless possibilities.
Meanwhile, I have seen a kite in my brother’s house. Honestly, I do not precisely remember my last encounter with a kite. It had been years since I last flew one, yet the memories bring back today when my late grandfather made a kite for us.
And there were times that he helped us to create it with several materials. Those were the days when he was still alive. I did not know how to make a good kite, but I enjoyed using it and letting it fly in the air as I ran around a vacant lot nearby.
I may not remember when was the last time I flew a kite, but one thing is for sure, I have tried playing it for more than two decades since I remember trying it in grade school when life was simpler.
Yes, life was simpler back then, and all I wanted was to play all day. But when I was younger, I also wished I could have flown a perfect kite in the air, but I am not so good at flying a kite.
In elementary, I could never forget how many times I failed, but I was still grabbing the string and releasing it into the air. Still, I witnessed the kite ascend and dance with the wind. And just like today, I have also experienced running through the corn fields with the kite trailing behind, and it brought so much joy in my childhood days.
As the day was about to end, the spectacular sunset made my day more exciting, knowing I was a sunset lover. So it was a perfect opportunity to capture a candid moment as I see myself capturing a priceless moment. The sunset added so much excitement because I could finally catch it again.
When I was at the corn fields, the Sun gradually descended toward the horizon, and I felt it was a perfect moment to capture the moment with my camera. Perhaps the day had been serene and a perfect day to let the kite fly in the air.
With the kite still flying lower, I positioned myself to capture the scenery with the sunset and the spectacular clouds as my background. The sky was like a canvas painted with hues of orange and gold. And it was another different spectacle that took my heart for a moment.
I had many candid shots as I played with the kite and captured a moment in front of the sunset. I so loved the beautiful sight around me as it made me relaxed for a moment.
And that, I seized the opportunity to capture many candid shots of myself and the kite against the breathtaking backdrop and the beautiful sunset. The golden light had a warm glow, creating a serene ambiance on the farm.
I felt like a little kid away from all worries of life. And that, I wish I were as free as the kite. How I want to live will be lighter without burdens. How I hope there are many moments of freedom. How I wish there were many times for escape. And how I want to. There are many boundless possibilities in life at present. But life is a paradox, and I always hold on to that, but I am not giving up, come what may.
I have been swamped and stressed these days, yet, my experience today has been an unwinding moment from the busyness of life, which allowed me to reconnect with nature and appreciate its simple pleasures.
Being a minimalist lets me appreciate every simple pleasure of life amid technology and constant connectivity. Perhaps this tranquil escapade brought back the little kid in me. The kite, the idyllic sight, and the sunset were in perfect harmony, and the entire scene created a timeless moment where my worries melted away, and all that mattered was the joy of the present.
I must say that my day spent on the farm was a moment of enchantment as I embraced the simple pleasures of life along with the captivating beauty of nature. I will always cherish the kite, the sight, and the sunset in my solitary heart. It made my day, and I enjoyed everything today.
