Lost in the Forest

Today was an eventful day, I was invited by friends to spend a day at a creek which snakes through a local state forest. You are able to hike on the walking circuit and view the wonderful great outdoors. There was no fresh drinkable water or food there so we had to gather our own for the trip.

Last time we were at this same creek one of my friends found a pair of Rayban sun glass laying in between two big ass rocks then later swam down stream and I found a silver Ripcurl wristwatch buried in the coarse sand at the bottom of the creek bed. We are yet to find anything else worth value again.

After swimming my friend wanted to go hiking and no one wanted to go except my brother and I. Once we started walking for a few minutes mosquitoes started swarming us but we kept walking. My friend had bites all over him. The plants were partially over grown onto the track so the branches and leaves brushed against your legs and made your skin itchy, the ferns were the most annoying because they have pointy tips on their leaves which stabbed you. Every once and a while would stop and enjoy the view of the pine trees and creek.

Near the end of the track we came to a T- intersection and it only had a sign which pointed left but that way went straight into the creek with water flowing over the track so we went right. This was one of the worse decisions of my life. We walked for ages down this dirt road that was so uneven that I almost rolled my ankle a few times. After like half an hour of stupidly walking down this path while talking about movies which are based on people getting lost in the forest, we stopped and checked google earth to see what direction and finally figured out that we walked all that way for nothing, the dirt that we were heading on lead to a string of T- intersections that were also dirt roads that went no where. Because I didn't really want to end up like the people in the Wolf Creek movie or Wrong turn 1, 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6, and 7. I turned back the way we original came from journeyed back to the other group of friends which were already wait for us in the car, I went straight to the icy cold water and chugged it down. Likely we didn't eat the bag of salt and vinegar chips we had because that would of made us dehydrated more than we already were.
