Despite bright lights illuminating the area at 10:00 p.m., the clock confirmed nighttime as Volatiles prowled below. After triggering a chase, I scrambled up a ladder to safety behind a UV light barrier. I then located Barron's CCTV-equipped safehouse, using the bed to rest until morning before meeting the Sheriff.
It was 10:00 p.m., yet bright lights washed over the surrounding area as if the sun were still up. Despite the illumination, the clock confirmed it was officially nighttime, which explained why the Volatiles were actively crawling all over the location.
I figured the nearby power plant's power grid had come back online, creating artificial light across the zone, because under normal conditions, Volatiles would never linger in such brightness.
The entire area swarmed with dangerous infected, and I had no intention of approaching them, regardless of the light.
Despite my caution, one of the Volatiles spotted me and lunged forward to attack, instantly triggering an intense chase. I scrambled over to a nearby ladder and began climbing frantically, hoping to reach the rooftops in one piece.
Two Volatiles scaled the structure right behind me and pulled themselves onto the roof. I sprinted toward a set of active UV lights, forcing the creatures to halt their pursuit.
The harsh UV rays prevented them from reaching me, allowing me to stand safely at the barrier's edge and taunt the angry beasts while getting a close, detailed look at their terrifying features.
Shortly after, the chase indicator faded, and the Volatiles retreated to the ground below. I decided to make my way toward the room Barron had previously used, intending to convert it into a safe zone.
Upon entering, I realized he had been monitoring my movements all along through a bank of CCTV screens connected to cameras around the perimeter.
The room contained a functional workbench along with a bed to rest. I used the bed to skip the rest of the night until morning, before preparing to head toward the town hall to meet with the Sheriff once daylight broke.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
