I navigated on foot past an active torture scene near the monastery, defeating several infected bandits to rescue a captive. Reaching the transport truck at sunset, I utilized a protective UV light to safely eliminate surrounding threats before discovering critical guidelines about a missing Chimera on a fallen soldier.
I decided to take an alternative mountain path leading away from the monastery to safely reach my destination this time. Along the trail, I stumbled across a brutal scene where a group of hostile survivors was actively torturing an innocent captive.
I stopped there immediately to step in and rescue the trapped man. It proved to be an incredibly difficult engagement; as the group consisted of nearly half a dozen hostile fighters, turning around to launch a chaotic assault against me, and there were some infected as well.
The intense pressure forced me to sprint around to allow my health bar to regenerate fully. Once stable, I charged back into the fray, successfully defeating the very last of the infected bandits and freeing the grateful captive from his bonds.
I opted to travel entirely on foot this time rather than driving a loud vehicle, arriving near the primary objective zone just as the sun was about to set below the horizon. The surrounding place appeared unusually quiet, with very few active infected roaming the streets.
Taking advantage of the sunset behavior, where the common infected become less aggressive and simply stare fixedly at the fading sunlight, I easily navigated closer to the main transport site. A few stragglers still noticed my approach and attempted to close the distance.
I scrambled directly into the back of a large abandoned transport truck. The tracking infected refused to step inside the cargo bed because a functional UV light barrier was keeping them at bay, allowing me to safely pick them off one by one from the relative safety of the violet glow.
Once the immediate perimeter was completely cleared of threats, I commenced a thorough search of the transport site. I stepped back inside the metal container and discovered an official Chimera transport guidelines document resting next to the body of a fallen soldier.
The recovered documentation explicitly confirmed that Baron's men were actively transferring a highly dangerous Chimera, though the creature itself was completely gone from the broken cage.
Realizing I now had to track the missing monster, I chose to remain securely inside the UV-protected truck bed, knowing that Volatiles would be out hunting the streets now in the dark.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
