My real name : Pieter van Niekerk
I am 73 and Annatjie, my wife is 72.
I was borne in Ladysmith, Natal, South Africa.
I presently reside in Krugersdorp (the Uranium city), on the West Rand of Gauteng province in South Africa.
We have two married daughters and four grand children. One married daughter and three sons.
I speak Afrikaans and English fluently and a little Dutch, German and Zulu.
Are there some Afrikaans speaking Steemians? Is daar Afrikaanssprekende Steemiane?
My tertiary qualifications include a B. Sc. Eng. Elec., a Masters in Business Leadership and Certificates in advanced engineering education for explosion prevention technology, Earthing practices, Lightning protection. I also have two Government Certificates of Competency in electrical and mechanical engineering for Mines and Works.
My career was mostly spent with gold and coal mines (21 years) and electrical and mechanical consultants (20 years).
I presently run two businesses. Biolec Africa (Pty) Ltd. deals with biomass gasifiers and the conversion of municipal solid waste for the generation of combined heat and power (CHP).
Projecstudies cc. deals with engineering projects in industry. Our specialties are electrical reticulation, power efficiency, safety management, quality management, risk management, project management, training courses in electrical design and protection, high voltage switching and explosion prevention.
The flow sheet above is for an incineration plant obtained from a Chinese company that we represent in Southern Africa.
In my spare time I play Golf, hunt occasionally (for the pot), ride motor cycles, do physical training, take self defence classes, practice playing my clarinet and listen to classical music.
My wife and I spend our holidays at time share resorts, on boat cruises and game watching in private game lodges.

I like to discuss molten salt reactors in nuclear power, hybrid electric cars, non-conventional internal combustion engines, cryptocurrencies, animal care, music, economics, politics, libertarianism, history, philosophy, gyroplanes, traveling, boat cruises, anthropology, friendships.
