This is one of Africa’s largest antelope, the Common Eland. They occur in Eastern and Southern Africa, where they can live in very large heards. The dominant bull can weigh up to 940kg’s!
I was lucky enough to see them in the West Coast National Park, 1.5 hours from Cape Town, South Africa. As the sun was setting, the golden light shone through a gap of clouds at just the right moment to snap this image.
