I believe in crypto, platform reputation is everything. Lots of people in the crypto space already consider HIVE to be a shitcoin, and I feel it is of great importance that we as a community work towards demolishing that view, showing the world with community geared and long-term future geared projects that HIVE isn't a shitcoin. I think a project like this however does the opposite and top witnesses joining in on the hype around this project even more so. It gives justification to the maxi's who have been referring to HIVE as just another shitcoin.
As for blacklists, I'm not sure everybody gets what they are or how they are used. They start out as private "I think these people did something I don't agree with" lists not by default used by anything or anyone, so adding people to a blacklist, on its own does absolutely nothing. Its only when people build something on top of HIVE that they can choose to use their own or other people's blacklists. A curation initiative. A beta program for a new DApp. An airdrop for a new utility token. Etc. I've updated my blacklist to now only include accounts that minted at least 10 punks, and I plan to use it as exclusion criteria for future competitions and a beta of a project that might or might not actually make is to a beta to begin with, so the consequences of me using my own blacklist are minimal. Others are welcome to use my blacklist in their project though, as I am welcome and willing to use other people's blacklists if those blacklists are geared towards behaviour that make HIVE look like a shitcoin in other ways.
