When was the last time you felt safe outside?
When was the last time you felt happy with life?
When was the last time money wasn't a problem?
Western Civilisation has hitherto been a decadent force of unfulfilled promises. When has the "American Dream" ever benefited you for your good?
Society has deceived itself into thinking that storing value in "things", rather than people, will uphold a sense of national goodwill. When has the pursuit of wealth ever benefited the those who fail to find wealth? How does owning a Ferrari do good for society as a whole. Materialism will be the death of humanity.
Niccolo Machiavelli, an Italian Political Philosopher, upheld that Rome fell because of moral decadence and human ambition. The same story is being played out across the globe today. Everyone is chasing the American dollar, and the desire for power has never been so evident.
Our current epoch is the Age of Decadence. In this "junk culture", anything can be found on the Internet, whether legal or illegal. At the cick of a button drugs can be purchased from the "dark web", and other illicit activities can be found. Even our daily interactions are becoming less friendly, and people appear more hostile than ever.
Mankind's efforts to rebalance the scales of morality, whether through politics or media, has failed miserably. As we progress into the years ahead, I fear what may become of Man.
