Bieszczady - Mountain Jungle

Hi Folks!

Continuing the subject of magical Bieszczady mountains in southern Poland I want to show You the summer look of the nature there.

First of all - most of the area of Bieszczady is very wild comparing to other mountain areas in Poland. No heave industry, big cities, highways... small villages are connected with sometimes poor quality roads, the main tourist centre is located around the Solina lake and dam, further we go to the south and east - more wild tracks and forgotten villages we can find.

Many valleys are covered by dense woodlands and hard to reach hills and gorges. Thanks to that, nature and wildlife of Bieszczady is so rich.

Wolves, bears, moose, european bisons, lynx and wildcats - all of these big mammals are living there.

Bieszczady is a paradise for all wildlife photographers.

I didn't have much time to explore such wild areas, but there was a one short hike I took by the forest road used to transport timber.

I was amazed by diversity of plants and forests there. Many rivers and small creeks, meadows, beech and fir forests.

Green jungle - which must look amazing when starting to change colors in autumn.

I must say I would love to spent there whole year to observe and experience different seasons in such magical environment. Maybe some day I will move there ;) who knows.

Bieszczady mountains are still not so much urbanized, the history of the region is quite dramatic, during the WW I and WW II, the villages where destroyed, many people died or being relocated to other countires. Many of the villages, still on the maps - are not present in reality.
Place is full of mistery and magic, cultural objects and places, forgotten roads and buildings.

I hope it will stay in such wild form and will attract people who love nature, peace, hiking and history. The rest of tourists who love just to party - stay in Solina ;).
