Yeah, how to drink it is as much of an art as how to make it. When I used to run a bar I'd typically tell them how I enjoy a certain type, so went with recommendations, other had an idea or two of their own. Glassware wasn't what some would call ideal, but, I never got any complaints. I guess soda water is another way to serve scotch, or with a certain amount of Drambuie, which I think does work well with certain scotches.
