D-Tube Wednesday: spectacular views of Colombian landscape from El Penon

Welcome to my D-Tube Wednesday series where I share my videos taken at interesting places that I have visited during my travels.

Today, I will take you to a very extraordinary place, the famous Colombian landmark known as El Penon de Guatape.

Colloquially known just as El Penon or La Piedra, this spectacular natural landmark is a gigantic inselberg that is located just outisde of the little Colombian town of Guatape in the Antioquia Region.

Towering up to 200 m (656 ft) above its base and the surrounding landscape, El Penon offers some astonishing views and is thus a very popular tourist attraction of the area.

I will definitely write more about this wonderful place in some of my future posts but for today, let me just share a short video with you that I took at the very top of this massive rock.
