I don't know if you saw the news that the rate of everyday colds and flus were way down last year ...because everyone was washing their hands and common surfaces, and masking up. It will stop the other illnesses, too. But now it's like everyone is tired of doing that and are just ...giving up (I'm not saying that's what you did, to be clear, I just see a bunch of people acting that way). Or they feel like "hey I got vaccinated that means I'm done" when no ...no it isn't done. The newest mutation is spreading even among vaccinated people, we still need to mask and wash our hands because as you say, mutation is what these things do.
Like don't get me wrong, I'm vaccinated, but it isn't a magic bullet, people. It's not like vaccines for something that we can actually beat beat, like smallpox or polio. It's more like a flu vaccine, which they have to change up every year to account for mutations.
But say that to some people and you either get labeled an anti-vaxxer (which I'm not) or a party pooper, because people want to go back to their normal lives and pretend it isn't happening. But I digress.
Apparently I needed to rant about that, lol. Sorry.
