Blogging is something that I’ve loved for the longest time and always wanted to do. I’ve looked forward to sharing my stories, thoughts, activities — my words — with a great many people and Hive became my first platform. Even better, there’s a whole community to share my short stories with — that’s just splendid!
When my sister told me about Hive, I was quite excited because of the part about earning. I would be getting paid for writing about things I like. And also, the part about it having different communities. It sounded too good, so I joined even when I didn’t quite know exactly how it worked.
As a blogger, you are sometimes a combination, in part or in whole, of the following: a writer, a graphic designer, a web-designer, a videographer, a video editor, an editor, a manager, and much more.
Having to do some of these in my blogging has been most beneficial because I’m doing more writing, more editing (even learning about Markdown) and more graphic design ( that’s if you can call designing on Canva that) which helps me improve on them. The one I find most exciting, with the exception of writing, is designing images on Canva. Using images I designed in my blog posts is utterly satisfying. And when I’ve edited a post and I click the publish button, there’s this thrill I get that I can’t quite explain. It is what has kept me here even when my growth is slow. When I get a few upvotes or feedback on my posts, I may feel down for a bit, but I always return to post again because I enjoy it.

When I just began blogging, I’d put the post together on paper before typing. Now, I type directly, but not on the blog — on my WPS. Then, I copy and paste it on the blog, edit, before I publish.
